#Scientists catch #shark threesome on camera
"It was over quickly for both males, one after the other. The first took 63 seconds, the other 47." First made his move, "penetrating the female's cloaca with his left clasper." Claspers are modified pelvic fins capable of transferring sperm. After first male shark finished, he lay motionless while the second male held onto the female's other fin. Then the other shark moved in, did his business, and the female shark swam away.

Three leopard sharks in rare mating sequence
Ars Technica · Scientists catch a shark threesome on cameraBy Jennifer Ouellette

so I had two classes to teach today, both over zoom. In the past, I've set up Halloween zoom sessions in different ways, but this year I set my background thusly, and donned a shark costume and I feel proud of the setup.

I have this collection of tiny, and not so tiny, fluffs looking for a new home. The hyena was created recently. They are my "mental health improvement" projects, because I like creating them. Since they all cost a lot of time, I cannot just gift them (although I totally would).

But you can have them to improve your day, or gift them. :neofoxpeekowo:

There are: a hyena with a purple punk mane, she's perfectly cuddle and travel proof!
Halloween themed bats, a bit more fiery than the usual ones.
A pocket wolf! They visited Awoostria and Eurofurence but are still looking for a new home.
And I still have an unnecessarily pink shark. Actually two of them. The short fur version with two different lengths. Was an experiment but the shorks are super soft!

#Fishers discover first-of-its-kind bright orange #shark with two rare conditions in #Caribbean
The bright orange #nurseshark (Ginglymostoma cirratum) off #CostaRica had a mysterious condition called #xanthism, or #xanthochroism, which increases yellow pigmentation in the #skin. Researchers have recorded xanthism in several animals, but this is the first definitive case of a nurse shark with the trait. The shark also appears to have albinism, making it even more unusual.
