#DavinciResolve

Please be gentle but I just shared my first project on #github I really want to see a #flatpak future for #DavinciResolve living on #Flathub or #bazaar Until then I'm working on a suite of add-ons specifically trying to transform #blender VSE to more closely resemble Resolve. My 1st effort is making a media browser to create bins and organize assets. Feedback & contributions are most welcome.

Very nice bonus: did some quick test rendering of an older #davinciresolve project. Not sure why, but with my old card the PC only used the CPU (7800X3D) for rendering. Now it utilizes both GPU/CPU which resulted in a 38min 4k Video to be rendered in just 10 minutes. MUCH faster than my old M1 MacMini could’ve done it (obviously). Guess I don’t need a better CPU after all in 2026. me like! #Nvidia5080FE #nvidia #gpu #gaming #5080FE

As is the case every single time, looking up tutorials for Davinci Resolve is a waste of time. For my lastest search, the best video tutorial I found was 10 minutes too long (as usual) and was missing 3 steps. This was the best one. The rest were 35 minutes of garbage surrounding a total gloss over of the subject.

I'm sure these people are good at using Resolve, but they are definitely not good at presenting a topic.

Welp, #DavinciResolve can’t render to AV1 on a #MacBook Pro, and as we all know you can’t get them with actually-powerful GPUs like Nvidia or AMD, so that’s that app out of the running.

Given the fact that #FinalCutPro is a third as much again as #VegasPro for Windows (which is fully capable of rendering to any format via CPU or GPU) which I already own, I think this particular quest has come to an end.

Macs just aren’t built for this purpose. Damn shame as I love the screen on my MBP.

It's been a while since I've graded anything with #Adobe's Lumetri. But the editor on my current project wants to be able to make versions after the grade, and they don't do #DaVinciResolve so, here I am in Premiere. The experience is very similar to how it feels to be given an image and told to edit it with Windows paint. I can't believe I used this junk for so long.
