These three brilliant "human computers" were necessary for keeping NASA's rockets in orbit. And yet, they were denied official recognition (and sometimes even a proper toilet!) because they were #BLACK and #FEMALE!
It shows how bigotry and discrimination often require willful ignorance, disinformation, and even breaking the laws, to persist. We know that these great #HiddenFigures were way smarter than the system that conspired to keep them grounded.
