This is a suggestion thread now I guess!

Don't take this the wrong way, I love this website, and I frequently share posts from here to try and subtly indoctrinate my friends to once again try fedi.

Embed links don't look the most attractive, with images it's so itty bitty you cannot see it.

With content warning posts there is nothing to look at at all.

I do enjoy sizable embeds :) for posts with content warnings you can get pretty creative making embeds for them, but I definitely wouldn't like what Bluesky has right now and ignore the content warnings entirely. I don't know how possible this is, I learned web design in my free time…

Also, a "preview post" button!

dear #DuckDuckGo or other search engine: I want a little button next to every #search result that lets me exclude it from all search results for me, personally, forever. With an option to block the entire domain.

I'm definitely looking at #pinterest but there's just a lot of #AI slop out there. Tons of AI-generated websites. Even without the AI search "helper" things, I get a lot of shit that is just really low quality.

I don't think I see this witih DDG (there is a "give feedback" button with unclear effects on my personal search experience) and I'm not familiar with many other search engines now (except google and no). But if there's something out there that already has this functionality, I'll be happy to check it out and happy for the referral.

I currently run/moderate a discord server with about 120 members. I'm looking to move away from that platform to something I can host myself (or worst case, through a service). We use voice chat, text chat/channels, user roles, and media uploads. Desktop streaming and video chat is a plus, but not required. Ideally users could choose between browser-based, desktop, and mobile clients. I'd like to prioritize ease of adoption too, since most of these folks are long term discord users.

I'm looking at Matrix right now (and considering hosting with etke.cc) but I would appreciate any suggestions!
