#offgrid

I was very sad riding into work today. Passing by countless hundreds of homes and businesses, no rooftops or yards filled with solar panels.

Instead, we have asphalt roofs and the world’s most abundant useless irrigated crop, mowed grass. All tied to the supply chain of genocidal billionaires that bomb children every day.

Why did I do to deserve this timeline in the boiler room of hell.

Looking for info on serious #offgrid system I want to run my farm on it, the power company is 3x my calculated cost to run a propane generator to charge the battery and then operate my mushroom house on an inverter tied to the mains. NO solar, or wind, required... I have done the math 3x... but I am nervous, I will need to use 30kwh per day average, and I will have to swap battery's every 2 days, only ~16 hours per week of generator run time is needed to charge enough AH by the numbers

The EG4 system is quite robust. Initial R&D testing indicates that this could be a comparable replacement to the now discontinued Schneider XW platform (which was, without a doubt, the best and most robust off-grid solution available, but cost a fortune).

Findings so far are almost zero transfer time from grid to battery. Fired up a 2HP motor with 5kW heater effortlessly. Commissioning wasn't hard, but it's more complicated than your typical "home battery".

I still have a bunch of tests to run including generator support, the monitoring portal, smart loads, etc.

I'm trying to prep for winter, and have some difficult but totally doable tasks looming. But I have no idea how I'm going to do them.

I think back over what I had to do last winter even just to move in here, and I really pulled off some incredible tasks in a very short time in some very cold weather in a society with failing infrastructure.

So why does this project seem so impossible to do when I have a couple of months of comfortable weather?
