I had a sudden urge for 3rd party cola a couple of weeks ago and was sort of horrified how diminished the independent soda market is anymore. Bubba Cola, Jolt, and countless other small brands are all gone, and while Shasta Cola and Jones Soda Cola (a terrible name, but still what it's called) still exists I couldn't find any.

As a stopgap have been drinking Faygo Cola, which is... good, actually... but probably would be better if there were a couple of people in clown makeup having sex while high off their asses nearby. (it's not my culture, but I respect their ways)

But, fear not, turns out the DO still make my personal favorite, RC Cola, you just have to work a little bit to get it now.

I would have ordinarily passed over a report about Keurig Dr. Pepper acquiring JDE Peet’s. However, I decided to open the link since I just recently posted here about Peet’s becoming the coffee provider for Southwest Airlines. I noted in my own post that I had never opted to use my free Southwest Airlines drink on coffee, usually going for apple juice. However, I know that I have on one or two occasions on shorter flights taken the Dr. Pepper. For that reason, I was thinking about a quip about how Dr. Pepper is now Southwest Airlines’ coffee provider. Alas, the report from Tea and Coffee Trad Journal linked above noted that Keurig and Dr. Pepper would split into two companies, with Keurig joining Peet’s and Dr. Pepper focusing on the non-coffee side of things. Thus, my idea for a short post about a quip turned into a sport post about the quip that wasn’t.

(Aside: Not a fan of Keurig machine coffee but I would take it over lemonade coffee.)

Randomly decided to try a Dragon Ball Z energy drink.

This one was "Warrior Power" and is allegedly citrus flavored.

It tastes like something a person who had one Sprite 20 years ago (and no other citrus beverages since then) would make and call citrus flavored based on their old memories of Sprite.

Meh. Wouldn't get again.

I got excited by these BC sodas I'd never heard of which were being sold at Glenburn Soda Fountain in Burnaby. Because it's so rare to see rhubarb soda in Canada, something I've mostly had in Germany. Sad to say it's not that great. I'd say the rhubarb taste is rather faint and the apple taste is very overpowering and acidic. Alas.
