I enjoyed the #TimeTravel #SciFi trilogy Axis of Time by John Birmingham, so I'm happy to learn that a #television series based on the first book, Weapons of Choice, is supposed to come out next year.

It's about a group of navy ships that gets thrown back in time, à la The Final Countdown, except they don't just spend a day in World War II, they spend the rest of their lives there.

Other ships and facilities also came back, and the Germans and Japanese used the knowledge they gained from them to improve how they conducted the war.

I’ve finally completed the so-called “dystopia canon” – Orwell, Atwood, Burgess, Huxley… and now Gattaca. Completion should feel triumphant, but the cost was two hours of cinematic determinism. The premise is sharp – genetic caste systems, eugenics as destiny – yet the script is as rigid as the society it condemns: zero degrees of freedom, every beat preordained. Satisfaction minimal.

"Violent Horizons" is a #SciFi twisted take on the classic tale of Pinocchio by Sam Clover.

Silas has lived with his lover Eshan on a remote space station for as long as he can remember. Eshan takes care of Silas' sexual needs, which keeps him happy. But then, one day, the station is boarded by a man hell-bent on finding something he thinks Eshan has. The man kills Eshan and thinks he's killed Silas, but the young man somehow survives and finds himself on a planet occupied primarily by lizard-like refugees. Loc has seen his share of battles, mostly with humans. He lost one eye in one of those fights. He shouldn't give a second thought to the scared young man he spots on the street, but Loc can't quite stop himself from helping the frightened Silas. It might be a case of no good deed going unpunished.

For the Creative Code challenge by @sableraph : “Earth”, The first time around had LayersBeneathEarth coded in #PuzzleScript, #Hydra & #LiveCodeLab. For LayerBeneathEarth2, I have added a #Locomotion component to the voyager perspective.

The LayersBeneathEarth Series follows a Voyager’s journey through the various layers beneath the Earth. Entering a dungeon that seems to never end and is constantly changing. This is done through the game engine: PuzzleScript , the effects of Hydra and the 3d audiovisual components of LiveCodeLab & Locomotion. While also having earthy colors in the visual concepts.
