Victoria Hand Project: Changing Prosthetic Care with 3D Printing

Prosthetic limbs change lives — but they’re often expensive and slow to make. Traditional upper-limb prosthetics can cost thousands of dollars and take weeks or months to produce, leaving many people without the help they need. The Victoria Hand Project, based...

New in PrusaSlicer: Consistent Surface Finish and Nerfing VFAs on the CORE One and Other Printers!

One of our major focus points over the last two months has been resolving VFA (Vertical Fine Artifacts) on the Prusa CORE One and other printers. I’ve posted several updates throughout the process, and I’m happy to say that with the...

That’s a shame - no way to enable stealth mode remotely. There’s an issue on the #Prusa Github from January 2024, then supposedly it was assigned an internal ticket in March 2025.

I would like to have #HomeAssistant enable it on a schedule or based on a motion detector so we don't have to listen to the rickety Ikea enclosure squeak through dinner. #3DPrinting

Seizing the means of production means that now I want more printers...

Seriously though, big prints and wanting to print something else in the meantime makes scheduling difficult. A critical path needs to be defined for these projects going forward - or settle on some designs that become a "standard" that can be low key stock piled between projects.

Printing ABS is as much of a pain as everyone says. Needs some research and experimentation. Perhaps justification for another printer. Ha!

This summer, it's been too hot in the office for me to spend much time in here. I've been working upstairs, where there's air conditioning. But temperatures are finally dropping, and I woke the #Prusa (a MK3S, originally assembled 7 years ago) up from its months-long nap to print something for a relative.

A quick test print shows that it's still calibrated properly. Loaded in some PETG, dropped the .gcode on the SD card, and away we go. Runs like clockwork.

Less Memorizing, More Making: Back-to-school 2025 deals are here!

All kinds of education are important. But nothing boosts creativity, imagination, and problem-solving skills like 3D printing. It also deepens your child’s connection with technology and makes learning so much fun! No textbook or even IT tool can do such a...

Looking at maybe upgrading to a new 3D printer at some point in the next year, and as much as I'd love to build a Voron from scratch I'm not sure I'll have the time or the money.

Currently I'm looking at the Sovol SV08 (with the enclosure) and the Prusa Core One.

Does anyone here have any recommendations?
