Received late June with the intent of reviewing soon,
#fermentbrewing provided us their "White River Saison", "High Five. Herman! IPA", Top Ferment - "Summer IPA", and their Bottom Ferment "Pils Bernina".
Now, obviously, we're only now sharing our thoughts on these beers. Oh, and if you have either "High Five, Herman" or "Summer IPA", drink them right now!
More below.
About Pils Bernina. Out of the can, Pils Bernina produces a comforter's worth of white head, resting on a clear pool of gold. Receding, there remains a fog bank of head on the surface.
Swirling and sniffing, we recover notes of wilderness flowers, cooking herbs, some white grape, and a bit of spiciness.
Sipping, we recover much from the aromatic notes, along with some rich earth, and finishing with a hint of bitterness. Overall, Pils Bernina has a medium mouthfeel, noticeable notes of alcoholic warmth, and a lingering warmth along the palate.
About White River Saison.Out of the bottle, White River creates a cap of off-white head, resting on a clear pool of gold to orange. Receding, there remains a crown of lacing inside the glass, hugging several islands of white on the surface.
Swirling and sniffing, we recover notes of sulfur, lemon zest, black pepper spice, and some rustic hay.
Sipping, many of those same notes show up as we swallow, complimented by a kind of freshly kneaded dough character. Overall, White River Saison has a medium to strong mouthfeel, and noticeable elements of spice lingering.
