The "#ShinyHappyPeople" #sequel highlights the #Christian boot camp that traumatized a generation
The three episodes focus on #TeenMania, a Christian #ministry founded by #RonLuce, with a goal of getting children to turn to #Jesus and reject temptations like #sex, #drugs, and #alcohol.
But the #darkside of the ministry destroyed so many lives.
I was DJ at the college station that day, and ranted about him taking over the school & not inviting any students to the rally. I closed the rant by playing Ministry's then new song, "N.W.O." (New World order, which has a sample of Bush Sr. saying that throughout the song)
(side note several students did get passes last minute & he called them "draft dodgers" for chanting over him speaking... despite all of them not being alive when there was a draft)

Watching Ministry's livestream from Wacken reminded me that back in 1992 I did something mildly rebellious then, that would probably get me detained by Secret Service today.
In 1992 Bush Sr. was running for reelection & visited Middlesex County College. Secret Service was there all week, & on the day he came, they shut down the big parking lot for his helicopter.
