Since I've been away from here for a bit, how about an introduction?

Hi there, I'm dAVE! I'm based in Seattle, WA, USA. I'm a dad that enjoys brewing coffee with one of my many coffee brewing toys. I also enjoy video games and reading science fiction.

As a creative outlet I like to make experimental electronic music and sound art. I mostly focus on making improvised pieces using my Roland SP404 MKII sampler and an array of effects pedals and instruments.

When making music I try to be in the moment as much as possible and just record and move on. I like to record what I'm doing down to stereo right away with no real mixing afterwards and very little mastering. Capturing the raw feeling of the moment is what is most important to me.

Born and raised in oskana ka astasteki, Treaty 4. Adopted into a (heavily in denial) Métis family, I have come to understand myself as a white trans fem and enby. I’m AuDHD and have cPTSD. I’m also a recovering addict and constantly throwing myself into the next battle for community wellness.

I’m a photographer, musician, DJ, graphic designer, and human rights/trans rights activist. I use my art, passion, and lived experience to build local community based on trauma informed, harm reduction based practices. Through dance and art as rebellion and healing practice, I do what I can to create spaces where marginalized people can let down their guard even a little.
