first full test of the full movable type block! #3dprinting

a few issues:

-i'm having some height discrepancies in the blocks themselves. will have to take a look later once it's dried off from washing.

-okay it's actually a LOT of work to spoon-baren this entire thing. i definitely get why people move on to presses. p.s. that spoon still looked like unfinished wood an hour ago lmao

The only calendar I've ever been able to use long-term (8 years!) is a giant whiteboard with 12 weeks of dates on it, that only requires updating every couple of months.

I now need to get the Internet involved, so I bought a cheap projector, recreated my calendar in Python, and wired it into the home automation.

When I first wake up, Node-RED will trigger a Raspberry Pi to check for new calendar invites and if there are any it'll turn on the projector and display the new calendar for 10 minutes before turning the projector back off.

Did the final touches today including building the IR blaster circuit and 3d printing a case to hide the Pi under the table.

It's been three years since I uploaded my first design so I thought it might be time to go back and revisit that model and see if I have learnt anything in those years. Even if it is just how to paint blue.

Both designs print without supports in FDM and are available for free on my Cults 3D page now and will be up on MyMiniFactory sometime in the next couple of days.

Day 7/84: Another modular design—common parts that make it easy to build multiple variations. In the case of the Accord, both sedan and coupe use all of the same parts except for the bodies. The bumpers are integrated into the base piece as well, so I could theoretically also make a pre-facelift (1986-87) sedan with just one new piece, but I never have. #WeirdCarMastodon #164scale #3dPrinting

Shoutout to 123-3d.co.uk for supplying something I had trouble finding at a reasonable price elsewhere (a particular release film), quick delivery with no extra charges for the Highlands, and no pestering me for reviews afterwards. Top marks, don't let the 2000s looking (but still very functional) website put you off. #3dPrinting

Hey 3d printing friendos! I'm having some issues with resin printing, and curious if fedi would be able to assist!

So my Mars Pro seems to be in mostly working order. I can print minis with great detail still, and seem to get no failures when auto-generating "medium" sized supports with Lychee. That said, I've been trying to use provided pre-supported files, in hope of nicer details from smaller support sizes.

So, the problem -

On some surfaces, I'm noticing that a chunk of the model almost gets "torn away" from the supports during printing. It's happened on a few different models, so i'm more inclined to think a setting or parameter change on the printer might help?

Does this sort of thing look familiar to anyone? Are there any obvious settings on my Printer that I should try changing?

(Thanks for taking the time and reading, peeps. <3 )
