I hate windows. i used windows for 15 years of my career in computers. i never knew anything was better out there and became a fanboy of windows because that is all knew. i knew it inside out, the dll crashes, the bluescreens, lack of security and the requirement for me to become a fulltime admin of the box instead of using it for anything productive. some windows people say that these kind of things never happen to them. all power to them. it must just be me then right?
just recently thou i have had to have a requirement to check things out in explorer 6 and upwards because my site has not been rendering at all due to me using a lot more jquery and effects in my sites instead of flash (means they can be seen on mobile devices and i have some bling) and my windows xp black vmware slice was looking old in the tooth.
So, right at this moment i am watching windows 7 release candidate (7100) install on vmware2 - it detected it as windows vista and i am hoping that it will still install without a hitch. my windows xp black vmware session i have is constantly asking me for registration now and that has gotten annoying so i have switched to the freebie (for now) windows7 so i can use IE8 to test websites on a windows based machine. Have to say the installation for windows7 seems incredibly fast and all the fat has been sliced off from previous installations of windows and you can be up and running in 15 minutes. they have differently been working on their people skills when it comes to the process of installation.
I hope to have the bugs fixed up in a couple of days. Seeing has half of the traffic to my site is still windows i guess i have to support the piece of crud right? - meh.
