Crossroads. You get to them a lot in life if you watch for the signals and act on them.
Problem is i have pretty much been on autopilot for the last 12 months and my signal to noise ratio has shot through the ceiling on twitter that i cannot follow anyone anymore interesting people. that sucks. so i have been filtering down, blocking noise and bad karma and reshaping myself to go again. i miss the conversations i used to have with people on seesmic but i doubt i'll ever be using that again as often as i did. I'm pretty clear on the tools i want to use and share with again now. what is funny is that most of them are really lightweight. Something that is stable and fits into my day that makes consuming snippets of content easier is the order of the day. tune in to audiogravity over on audioboo for the next few days, got some cracking new apps/software for that sort of thing - i try my best to keep them under 10 minutes and discuss six urls on each. it's my yellow post it note of the day.
Actually looking at how that organic number of people has grown over the last years i'm pretty surprised at the amount of filtering i have to do using tools like tweetdeck to actually get to the good stuff. we are not always awesome all of the time and it can be annoying to sift through boring posts like this one to get to the good stuff. I still have not found an ultimate way to do that yet. I do know this thou, it makes you feel better by pressing the instant karma button to cut down on content - it will still be there when your ready, your not really missing out. ;)
I have actually switched to watching vimeo videos, the amount of insanely talented people on vimeo that are producing some very high quality pieces of work on little or not budgets is amazing. i still think there is huge value yet to come from that work, that footprint that people leave in the media snow of their talents. damn, i miss videoblogging ;)
