    super quick sign up link

One morning of south by southwest we got a delivery from our friends at boxee containing the usbstick/patchsticks - unformatted 1gb boxee pens. Over the course of a few hours i formatted a batch of them and headed into the conference centre in austin giving them out to friends and people who had seen my tweets regarding them. I bought the bigger batch home to give out and kickstart the 'plugitpassit' project properly in europe.

until we launch the plugitpassit.com frontend thou we thought you eager beavers among you would like to maybe get your mitts on one before the masses - we have about 75 made up and we did a slow release of the url on twitter the day before last but i'll be rolling out a proper campaign about it over the coming few weeks. you can find the sign up form over here - if you are in the uk i'll probably have them sent out within the week and in europe the week after.

for those still not familiar with the plugitpassit concept the idea is that we start a postal viral with the usb pens, that is you jailbreak your appletv with the bootable usb stick (you turn off your apple tv put it in, turn on and the stick does all the rest of the work, just reboot when required and when you see it on the menu on the screen) document a piece of media - a tweet/blogpost/picture/video/audioboo (send us the link please) and then "pass it on" to someone else that might use it with the understanding that they will do the same once they have used it.

of course we expect a lot of people would like to keep the usbstick, after all they do have boxee logo printed on them rather nicely and plugitpassit on the other side but by doing this you would be part of something really quite cool. we hope to put some kind of tracking in place in the form of google maps on the plugitpassit site and maybe we will do some kind of leaderboard for the most travelled usbstick and the origin of the source?

more to come from this project in the coming months! :)
