    Introducing Rezpondr (fundemental)

So for the first release of rezpondr (called fundemental) i wanted to give you a low down about the feature set that this version has and what you can expect as an invited user. Obviously we are not planning to roll this coded version out as the enterprise version - it will be re-written very quickly in python or ruby to accommodate those hi-traffic sites with niche requirements. This version is delivering on my original promise to the videobloggers of the world and small content producers - to give them the tools to create a very optimized and fun experience to the masses of their media and social footprint.

So i guess you want to know what rezpondr does right? - good because i am really excited to tell you. This idea has been in my head for well over a year and some platforms that made this concrete to me over the last year included seesmic, qik, viddler and blip.tv - i started to see so many wonderful services providing a great destination to produce and store content. For the average person in the street thou having to learn, adapt and be educated about the eco system of a particular site can almost have the effect of turning a user off a product or service - it just seems like a lot to do.

I perfect example of this sprung to my mind when my mother once asked me why i had never told her that flickr did video (this was before it did!) after seeing a crossposted video from blip.tv as a still image link to the actually video blip. She never saw the transition from flickr to blip, explaining to her why this was happening and why i stored my video here and pictures there made me stop and think. We are actually asking a lot of people to have to "think" about this stuff.

The reason why people are comfortable with remote controls and a tv set is because a lot of the heavy lifting is transparent, you know what channel you need to be at for a certain time - people shape their activity around it often. Some of us however (and people we are a small percentage worldwide still) like to have rss, itunes and optimized viewing experiences on our terms - we know the tools, we put the time in to discover.

So after enough babble. The feature list of what rezpondr can do for you currently.. .  i have recorded some of these as little talking head videos if that is what you prefer - you can find them on youtube, vimeo and other places..

    - your own custom subdomains for your event (multiple)
    - a selection of custom themes for that event (we can outsource to designer for one offs)
    - a live ajax inline switching system for different video streams (currently supporting ustream)
    - latest flv player from jereon with heavily used api for all our streams
    - select your main player - blip.tv, ooyala, vimeo, youtube (maintain your existing revenue)
    - date range service rows media so it is "just" for that event page. then leave page as is.
    - integrated thirdparty shoutbox with admin/ip/blocking features
    - integrated custom live shoutcasting solution support for shoutcast streams

    - intergrated support for recording, replying to seesmic.com videos
    - integrated dynamic ajax flash stats detailing aspects of your event
    - row/service support for flickr,qik,12seconds,vimeo,youtube,tumblr,bambuser,seesmic,bliptv,reuters,viddler
    - summarize twitter support built in for keyword tracking and display
    - reuters video support
    - blinkx.com support for keyword searching
    - display multiple rows of content from each service
    - a heavily worked on crawler that is being optimized already deployed in the cloud
    - qikFLOW - multiple qik users at an event sorted into a ui updating in order
    - flickr quick view - hover over pictures to see quickvideo - feed from flickr api via json
    - autoplay services row playlisting so recent content plays back to back until other media selected
    - livetweet - a nicely updating soft fade displayer with alert beep for dedicated twitter event
    - one click live switcher in admin for switching to a livecast from an event.
    - lightbox for every piece of media in your row - do functions on every bit of your media
    - a footer lightboxes system for auth'd users to fav and suggest.
    - media is in time based order from left to right.
    - ability to setup multiple service rows with different criteria for multiple events.
    - memcached, optimized, being weekly worked on to make a better system for the cloud.
    - weddings, restaurants, distributors, local search and estate agents templates planned.
    - family themes, support groups and eco information and media in one stop shops.

So as you can see me and the team have been fairly busy on this bit of development and it has been a joy to work on so far.  There are a lot of things that will be redesigned, rewritten (mainly for the set-top market place and for speed/performance issues) but we think that the future of channeled filtered content is a "one place" fed by many sources.

We have already licensed a white label version of our system with sleepydog (who had the foresight to invest time and energy - and give me a job) and it is going for rewrite in a better code base (probably rails or python) starting january - but i feel we have delivered on what i think all video bloggers and small content producers (that have very little budget) want. A simple one stop - aggregate, distribution platform - i see it like a video cv wall for your media.

Right now i'm looking for 50-100 videobloggers (we currently have about 15) that want to use our basic themes and setup there own pages importing all their social media video feeds to demo out our features and test out our system load, remember we are not out to make a big splash with this version of rezpondr but to provide to our roots of creativity - the videobloggers that opened me up in a junction of my life when i had given into gaming! - just a bit of thank you i guess! :)

Please leave a comment if you are interesting in being a trial user or just sign up on from the link below. I'm actually going to be using a custom rezpondr theme on the me.dm media page shortly on this site. Remember also that we have not even touched on some of the features we want to offer including the geo spacial stuff that will be so massive in the coming years.
